Five weeks to forearm stands!
Five sessions: 5, 12, 19, 26 September and 5 October at 7.30 - 8.45pm
Turn yourself upside down and all the bad thoughts will fall out of your head! Maybe not, but inversions do hold benefits like improving upper body mobility and strength, improving circulation and body awareness. Pincha mayurasana, or forearm stand, is a real full-body posture, and working towards it will mean improving your flexibility and stability in hamstrings, hip flexors, shoulders, upper back and core muscles.
We'll work methodically through drills, postures and exercises to increase mobility, stability and strength, as well as using the wall to support our balance and alignment. Expect a fun, supportive environment and lots of laughs.
If you've seen people practicing their inversions and wondered how on earth they got there - this is for you. If you've never even heard of a forearmstand but want to improve your mobility and strength with something fun and invigorating - this is for you. If you've tried a forearmstand once or twice but want to really refine your alignment, balance and body awareness - this is for you.
The course is aimed at anyone who is comfortable in a mixed-level vinyasa yoga class and who can hold downward dog with straight arms for 10 breaths.
